Mame napecene Kolace / Typical Czech sweets Kolace



Uz dlouho jsem doma neupekla nic ryze ceskeho. Obklopena jinou kulturou a mezinarodni kuchyni, me ovlivnuje natolik, ze jsou u nas v oblibe dobroty jako cheesecake, brownies, carrot cake, tiramisu...
A tak byl cas oprasit mamincin recept na  kynute testo. Ta ho pojmenovala kynute testo na kolacky - svatebni. 
Kolacky se ale nekonaly. Dostala jsem chut na poradny kolac, neboli lopatak - frgal jak se rika u nas na Morave.

It's been a while since I baked something typical Czech. Influenced by Australian culture and international cuisine I usually make goodies like cheesecake, brownies, carrot cake, tiramisu....  
It was time to dust off one of our family treasure recipe for Kolac.
It is thin pastry made from yeast dough topped with sweet fillings like cream-cheese, poppy seeds, blueberry, apples finished with layer of crumble on the top. In Czech republic you will find them everywhere they are so popular and we love them.


Upekla jsem tvarohovy, boruvkovy a jeste zbylo testo na marmeladove buchticky. U nas doma se jim rikalo celetky a pamatuji si, ze bratr se po nich mohl utlouct. Ja mam nejradeji makovy, ale mak ve velkem baleni u nas neni moc k dostani. Manzel miluje tvarohovy a ja byla spokojena s boruvkovym :)

I made one with cream-cheese filling and one with blueberries of course best part is the crumble topping. My husband loves cream-cheese filling my favorite is poppy seed. But big bag of poppy seeds are hard to buy here in Australia.


Testo jsem zadelala v domaci pekarne. Usetrila jsem si tak praci a za 45min. bylo zadelano i vykynuto :)
Pravy cesky tvaroh takova ta kostka ve stribrnem obalu, jak si dobre pamatuji za 1,50 Kcs (ja vim bejvavalo) tak to tu bohuzel nemame, ale vyborne ho nahradil Philadelphia cream-cheese.
Boruvky jsem pouzila mrazene, byly dobre ale nenahradi ty prave nasbirane v lese. 

I prepared the yeast dough in bread maker. Saved myself time and 45min. later the dough was made,  proofed and ready for fillings. In Czech we have special cheese for this cold tvaroh it is more moist and tangy, but Philadelphia cream-cheese with bit of lemon juice and zest did the trick :)
I used frozen blueberries but back home normally we would go to forest to hand pick fresh wild blueberries! They are much smaller in size and they taste so much better.


Odpoledne jsme si zamaskrtili u kaficka a jeste zbylo i pro sousedy, kteri takovy cesky kolac nikdy nejedli :)

  1. Ted jsem najednou dostala chut na kolac ,take jsem uz dlouho zadny Cesky nedelala budu to muset napravit.Jak chutnal sousedum?

  3. Hani, tvaroh je dobrý, ale když si můžu vybrat, beru borůvky. A koláček, ten musel být moc dobrý. A co říkali ti vaši sousedé na náš český koláč? Šly jim od uší bubliny? Takovou dobrotu určitě ještě nejedli :-)))

    1. Anicko, ja taky boruvkovy nebo makovy. Sousedum chutnaly a neco se jim za tema usima tlacilo :)

  6. Juuj, ten sa ti ale púodaril, muselo im chutiť a tvarohový vedie aj u nas. Moravske koláče pečiem veľmi často , mam recept na svojom blogu. Ja ich pečiem menšie, ale dobre to vyzerá aj tak vo veľkej forme a hlavne jednoduchšie :-)
